Product manager, programmer, and relentless competitor.
I’m Hayden, a product manager and
programmer living in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm a firm believer that impact doesn’t come
from titles — it comes from action.
I didn’t need to be a full-time engineer to set up user tracking at work—just a solid grasp of HTML, CSS, and a little JavaScript.
That foundation gave me the confidence (and the tools) to make sense of Heap and unlock real user insights.
Design was never my strength, and for a while, that didn’t matter. But as I dove deeper into programming,
I realized design, combined with the user's experience, is everything. Life is design.
Our clients needed the data to be more accurate, and they needed to have access
and interact with it in real-time. By leveraging AI and machine learning, we were able to create a system that not only improved data accuracy
but also provided actionable insights for our clients.
Early on in my product journey, I didn't
understand why I needed to talk to customers. Were they really going to teach me something? Could they actually tell me what to build? Then I started reading Continuous Discovery Habits by Teresa Torres,
and my view changed completely.
